Eastern Iowa Paleontology Project

“Bringing DINOSAURS to Iowa”

www.paleoproject.org

The Eastern Iowa Paleontology Project (EIPP) is a regional effort to promote science literacy and education through the wonder of paleon-tology.  The EIPP was organized in the spring of 2005 under the leadership of Don Johnson of Iowa City.  In the fall of 2005, the EIPP sponsors pooled their financial resources to bring a special fossil to Iowa, the unprepared fossil skeleton of “Laura the Juvenile Duck-billed Dinosaur.”  After much promotion since that time, “Laura the Kid Dinosaur” has truly become Iowa’s Celebrity Dinosaur!

——–—————————————–————

The EIPP is an Iowa nonprofit corporation that has plans to put “Laura the Kid Dinosaur” on public display in Eastern Iowa as the foundation for a variety of future world-class paleontology exhibits.  Such exhibits might be part of an existing museum/science center, or part of a new museum effort.
